Brought a new Samsung microwave two days ago.

used it once and noticed there interior was not lit up when the food was cooking.

Upon looking closely at it, found that it is actually on but because on where the bulb is recessed to far back it put hardly any light into the open.

Is this grounds for taking it back for a full refund or exchange of model?

Lighting is a functional part of what they advertise it to do, if its inadequate then its not fit for purpose.

They might say many microwaves are poorly lit, you just retort that you take that as an admission of poor design and is not your problem - its the manufacturer's and retailer's problem.

Thank you for your reply.

I think its also a safety issue, because you can not see the turn table turning.

Will return it Monday and get another model

Before you go peering into your next microwave might I respectfully suggest that you read through the safety instructions.
