Right, i am really upset at the moment, because some jealous chav wannabe has managed to key mark my car from the rear quatre to half way through my door on the passenger side, going right through the paint work, so it looks like i will be forced to pay a visit to Chann's for a nice repair bill, just in time for christmas.

Funnily, it is in a similar place to where the AX was keyed.

My question is this, if i catch some one damaging my car and i go and batter them, where do i stand legally?

Do i get done for GBH, or can i say i am protecting my property?

Any advice, and cheap ways to fix my car appreciated.

the best way is the legal way so don't go bangin any heads as it could cost you more than gettin your car sprayed
go to the police and file a complant about them and get it on file
hope this helps matey
merry christmas and happy new year

Cheers dude, seems as though by all accounts (thaanks to google and common sense) that i would be done for GBH if the people were cheaky enough to press charges.

I dont know if you can use reasonable force to hold them untill police arrive or something?

I have been advised to try the all american car wash, apparently they may be able to help me get rid of it.

Fingers crossed eh?

If it does require a respray, i suppose it would be a good time to get it all colour coded at the same time.

It apparently has to be resprayed, got a few contacts though.

Here is a rough diagram of the scratch. But it is on the other side of the car.

This is the idiot i am after, hopefully the CCTV caught something.

My mate had his audi a4 convertible keyed he saw who did it told the police they arrested the person then said they couldnt press charges because they wouldnt admit it (at least givin them a kickin you get satisfaction out of it)

Surely if you had a witness then they wouldnt need to admit it?

You recon i could somehow claim of the council?
Posted By: rossi-foci Re: Protecting your property - 21st Dec 2004 11:02am
you can sometimes claim damages to your car off your home insurance if it was on your driveway? (if you claim it was vandals to the property etc)

You may have to pay a small excess on your home insurance but wudnt affect your claim bonus on your car, and you could just get kerr to colour code if for you as part of the bill! happy

Its worth lookin into, if youve got a driveway?

the best thing to do these days is to go by the book, for some reason the crooks seem to always win even if they are to blame.

i know most of us espicially me, if some one damaged my car and i caught them i wouldnt by impressed but it would be me who goes down if i did anything about it. HOW FAIR IS THAT.

these days you can get CCTV really cheap wihch goes through your computer and can be fitted any where , this could be a good way to catch them and get the repairs done free instead of paying out of your own pocket.

CHAVS beware we are watching

I now know who it is, unfortunatly the evidence is not quite good enough frown

Been quoted £130 plus £100 to colour code the black panels, thought that was a bit steep, gonna get a few quotes i think.

If you know who it is, but there isnt the evidence, make sure theres no evidence when you wrap a bat round his head wink

Like your thinking Stuy! You have to play people by there own game these days mate, if you do pay them a visit one thing is for sure - they will think twice before doing it again. Hope you get it sorted anyway mate, yes

Violence always seems the easy option, but not always the most ingenious.

I am sure things will be sorted.

all you need 2 do is offer like a free taxi service to bouncers!! that way the chavs see your car loaded with meatheads all the time and wudnt wanna chance touchin it!

Ok not the most ingenious idea, comically it would work! smile

£200 to fix it and colour code it and fix an old spray job.

booked in to Kerr's before the new year.

Cost £240 but i got a couple of other bits sprayed at the same time.

Good quality work, and got some good contacts for (In the very near)future mods.
