I didn't click the link but I'm guessing it will be asking for bank details, just a heads up. They're doing it in all bank names.

The banks never send emails regarding your account. smile
Posted By: Blondie Re: Just received this. - 28th Feb 2011 2:35pm
I've had a few of them from HSBC and Paypal.

I've had four from paypal in two weeks. Reported them to paypal spoof. They said NEVER click on the link and that they will be investigating.

I get them from allsorts of banks, due to the nature of my business, im an easy target lol. I reguarly recieve the from the like of Chase and Wells Fargo, US banks, of which ive only ever had dealings with the latter.

Strange, ive never had one from Blom bank yet (Franco-Lebanese) though I have a lot of dealing with them haha!! Obviously they are not a big enough bank to be a believable story lol.

On a more serious note, you should never ever click-through a link in your email, unless you know for certain (expecting it) it was from an organisation you trust, and NEVER give any details, not even your name or email address, via a link you have typed.

Easiest way to deal with online banking is to only navigate to the web address yourself, by typing it in manually to your web browser for example type www.hsbc.co.uk instead of clicking any such links from emails or websites.

Any links you do click may well be genuine, but there is the potential that you are simply confirming your email address is "active" and that could lead to more and more spam as a result. It is very rare, almost unheard of, for a professional organisation like a bank etc, to send you an email with a link to login.

The same applies to Facebook et al, they are all targeted by spammers, email harbourers and phishers.

i've been getting them from santander, hsbc, lloyds and halifax for weeks i keep marking them as phishing scams

I've had a few emails from banks I don't even bank with and just as a warning I had one the other day from the DWP telling me I had paid too much tax £290.00. I didn't click any links just deleted it. If the DWP want me I'm sure they will get hold of me!

Hmm, seems they're scamming through email via ads now too...

Steve

Thanks for getting back to me. I will offer you £800 for the car and i would love to proceed with the purchase of it & my mode of payment will be by a cheque and for this transaction to be fast/effective i will urge you to get back to me with your full name, mailing address and phone number as stated below so that the cheque can be made payable to you

Full Name :
Contact Address :
Home Phone Number :
Mobile Phone Number :

The amount on the cheque will include the cost of the car & the shipping fees which will be payed to our transporters for them to make preparation to come to get the car transported down to me. A cheque for £3000 will be made payable to you and bear it in mind that my transporters will come down to your house or the designated address where they can get the car picked-up. So you don't need to be worried as i have a good and reliable transporter that is capable of handling the transportation process. As soon as you do receive the cheque you will deduct your selling cost and remit the remainder to my transporters so that they come for the pick-up

And for further proceedings i will be waiting to receive your full details as stated above

So i will like to hear from you at your earliest convenient time so the transaction can continue

Once again i will be looking forward to hear from you

Regards
Tom

Hi there, I have had it for a month, it came in on part exchange for my BMW AC Schnitzer, as I used to own one of these I thought I would keep it for a bit to show my friends.

I have been using this car everyday as well as my other car which is an Astra gsi redtop I've been restoring.

This car has not been a problem.
Being honest with you the rear spoiler paintwork wasn't it's best so it's going to a paintshop tomorrow morning to get painted at the cost of £100.

I am selling it to fund another project as my Astra is now almost finished, a friend of mine is selling a show car and in order for me to buy it I need more funds, I cannot sell the Astra as it owes me £3500 over the last 9 months.

Also my phone number is 0751 8913 123 to make it easier to contact me.

There is only 1 day 2 hours left on the auction, it's on £1000, you make me an offer, I can only say yes or no.

Where abouts are you?

Thankyou,
Steve.
