Bought it back in February with just over 13,000 on the clock.
Has a full service history and has been well looked after.

I've done my CBT and been doing lessons since, got my test next month.

Just did an oil, filter and coolant change the other week, but nothing much since.

The only mods are a blueflame exhaust and a Meta Alarm System

Not sure any more are planned being my first bike.

Any ideas or suggestions??

Goodluck with the test Joe matey

The only reason i dont have a bike is the same as Stu. Id end up over excited.

Although its funny this. I deem myself reasonably mature enough now, and hopefully with enough experience and have been thinking of buying a 600 and sorting my test out. I even went out to buy the MCN at dinner time.

The first bike i was looking at was the same as yours. In Green of course. I love them. Perfect first bike that you wont get bored of like you would a 125.

Be carefull on your test. Apparently on the latest version everyone is falling over doing it, at the rate of 2 or 3 a day.

Well done Joe - is this the end of 4 wheels? (is the car getting taken over by someone?)
Posted By: BMW Joe Re: BMWJoe: Kawasaki ZXR - 17th Jul 2009 9:59pm

Cheers guys.

Never said there was Wheels, if you're into your chicken chasers lol

Passed it's MOT, no problems.

Got a new back tyre too, set me back £120 inc fitting, so just gotta wear it in a bit.

Been looking at getting a clutch window, think that would look smart.

Also thinking of making a yoke cover similar to this:

Think I need to give it a good service, already changed the oil, need a new air filter and need to balance the carbs too.

Anyone got any balancing gauges I could borrow?

Needs

Take air filters off, rev up to 6000, put one cheek against one carb, take it off, put other cheek against other carb, get a mirror and compare the colour of the hickies.

Congrats matey well done

Now dont fall off lol
Posted By: Dave100e Re: BMWJoe: Kawasaki ZXR - 20th Jul 2009 3:41pm
Have you had any randoms shouting 'do a wheelie' at you yet? If you do itll probably be me.

Try getting a BIC biro, take the insides out leaving just the outside and put it against your ear and you should be able to hear the air passing past. Its what ive been told in the past. I dont think its very good for setting up fuel mixtures, but it should be ok for balancing.

No wheelies Dave!!! lol

Carbs seem to be ok after cleaning them.

ive had a liccle looky around on the net but nothing caught my eye yet.

how much is your insurance?
Posted By: BMW Joe Re: BMWJoe: Kawasaki ZXR - 22nd Jul 2009 5:49pm
Just over £30 a month

Better than my car insurance which is £140 a month
Posted By: Dave100e Re: BMWJoe: Kawasaki ZXR - 23rd Jul 2009 6:19pm
Do a wheelie!!!!!!! Have you still not done one yet? Not even a little cheeky one?

£30 a month is laughin'. I think once i feel im mature enough i may well add a wheelie bike to my fleet. Always wanted a 600 Ninja like yours, but being a honda man, id probably go for a CBR.
Posted By: Wheels Re: BMWJoe: Kawasaki ZXR - 23rd Jul 2009 8:18pm
Im going to Phone Marriots 2morra to book my first lesson smile was quoted £36 a month on a 600cc bandit smile

Cool smile

Hope you get your full license mate.

Its well expensive with these new tests heading out to Chester.

£52 for using the bike for 2 hours, plus £20 to Chester, plus £20 if its an early test (i.e. 8:20am which are usually the only ones lft available) plus test fee, which is £10 for mod 1 and £70 for mod 2

If you get the choice, bike 1 IMO is better than the other ones, it's the one I passed on

Went to Otterspool prom today and took some pictures smile

Done over 300 miles on it already.

Need to get a tank bag, as I always need to carry stuff around with me

Put some Autowirral stickers on too so people can recognise me

Posted By: Wheels Re: BMWJoe: Kawasaki ZXR - 2nd Aug 2009 6:56pm
Im doing good. only 1 lesson to fine tune my road positioning and I should be good to go. this Module 1 lark looks a bit silly tho. still gotta book my theory but cant be bothered finding my licence lol.

I think a pic in Snowdonia national park would look good tease

just booked my theory for the 21st this month.
Posted By: BMW Joe Re: BMWJoe: Kawasaki ZXR - 4th Aug 2009 2:07pm
Almost wasn't last night.

Some fella reversed into me with a van at traffic lights.

Partially my fault because of where I was positioned.

Good luck with your theory mate.

You out tonight?
Posted By: BMW Joe Re: BMWJoe: Kawasaki ZXR - 20th Aug 2009 12:11pm
Not really mods, more things I've recently bought...

Got an expandable tank bag off eBay, a yoke clock, a new tank protector and got myself some kevlar jeans.

Other than that, took some pictures last night smile
