A while ago someone asked for pic's of the Black Beast. Sorry, can't recall who it was, but here (hopefully) are some I took today. Crud quality compared to most other pics on the site, but better than nothing I suppose.

First attempt at uploading pics so don't fall about laughing !

Taken outside house late this afternoon. Bright sun, low angle and VERY cold !!

Great Pinz, didn't expect it to be black, you certainly live in an exposed area - looks like parts of Anglesey but for the surplus of trees.

Nothing wrong with piccies, look fine on the site.

If you want to see what these things will do, go to youtube & type "Pinzgauer". Even the 4 wheelers are amazing.

Thanks for your kind comments about the Black Beast/Flying Pig !
Consumption is about 15 or 16 mpg on the road. Off road - I try not to think about it !!

It's got their own (Steyr) air cooled engine, inclined 4 cyl. petrol, 2.5 litre, twin Solex carbs. (remember them ?) Just over 2 1/2 tons weight - hence the cronic mpg ! Having the aerodynamics of a brick doesn't help much either.

I've a couple of pics taken in the engine room which I might be able to post (if I can remember what my son taught me yesterday) but don't want this post to become B O R I N G !!! Vehicles like this are maybe only of interest to people who are desperate to get into debt, or are of feeble minds ! (I tick both boxes !!)

How cools that

0-60 is what raftl

Oh and sombody left a 19" wheel in the engine room.

How did you come about buying this.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Pinzgauer's Pinzgauer ??? - 6th Jan 2009 9:22pm
60mph ?? Mmmm.. I've read about such speeds.

Bought it from a friend who is a Pinz dealer in Lanark. Previous Pinz (4x4) got written off. Pity because it was a rag top in great condition and looked the mutts nuts. With the payout I bought the bigger 6x6 version. Eco-terrorism rules !!

Prior to the first Pinz, I had a Steyr Haflinger (small version of the Pinz). I had it from new and it lasted THIRTY YEARS ! Now being restored for a second lease of life !

Steyr stuff is built like a brick outhouse and will last, with a bit of TLC.
