Very nice, Im Vauxhall though and Through mate, to make it more GTE you need the bee-sting ariel in the centre of the roof at the front
Posted By: BrightSpark Re: BrightSparks: Astra MK2 GTE/CD - 3rd Aug 2007 11:41pm
thanks, nahhh an XE please so it moves like one laugh

still needs the gte bonnet and the roof spraying

C20LET or a Z20LET mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I have a work freind thats selling a MK1 GTE, but doesnt know how much for yet.
Posted By: MattLFC Re: BrightSparks: Astra MK2 GTE/CD - 3rd Aug 2007 11:45pm
Wow, its a credit to yourself the amount of time and money you have spent to get it back towards its former glory!

I have never really taken much notice of these car's, but its only because you see so few of them about nowadays, so I dont know much about em.

It looks so smooth and unblemished now!

cost a small fortune, was tempted to go with the x30xe out of a omegea, few people have done it over on astra-mk2 and works out tonnes cheaper to get to over 200 brake

the mk1 is the car i allways wanted, like chickens lips now

welcome to the site mate.

Very nice job so far, what else you got planned for it?

Not seen one of these in a looonnng time, nevermind a modded one.

A great choice of uncommon car to mod IMO happy

Thanks matt, its took 6 months to get this far, its by no means perfect but its better than what it was
now that im driving it ive lost motiavation to finishing it off
Posted By: BrightSpark Re: BrightSparks: Astra MK2 GTE/CD - 4th Aug 2007 12:02am
tbh im not into heavily modded cars, the only aftermarket thing on the car are the wheels
so the body is staying standard

future engine swap to a 20seh out of a cav sri 130 laugh
Posted By: Waddi Re: BrightSparks: Astra MK2 GTE/CD - 4th Aug 2007 12:07am
his is a pearler, just a starter motor and backbox needed to finsh it off. also tax and MOT needed as its been of road for a long time being brought to the standard its at.

I WANT IT! stop winding me up
hmmm, 500 quid id say!
Posted By: Waddi Re: BrightSparks: Astra MK2 GTE/CD - 4th Aug 2007 12:20am
thats how much you would like to pay.

If I wasnt ploughing all my current funds into buying a house I would have it as a second/show car.

Welcome matey.

Nice motor not a big vauxhall fan me but if i had top pick my top 3 the mk1 and mk2 astra's are both there (dont ask whats number 1 :r:)

What you have done looks nice indeed good to see you havnt gone over the top.

Would you be doing the engine swap yourself???

tha cars a credit to u mate, its good when u see all ur hard work ammount to something that looks so good. get urself along to nexr months meet and say hi !!
Posted By: BrightSpark Re: BrightSparks: Astra MK2 GTE/CD - 5th Aug 2007 11:19am
thanks for the comments lads! im quite proud of it myself to say the least

yes me and the old man will be doing it on the drive
both the engine are identical to look at, the difference with the new(ish) one im putting in is it has, high comp pistons, higher lift cam and ecu and obv its a 2L
ill be using the same gbox i have on now and all the mounts will be the same so its a straight swap
20bhp for £80 sounds good to me tease as they say "no replacement for displacement"

Hmmm I think I may have seen this yesterday (as in Sunday) afternoon going towards Tesco's roundabout, either that or there is a very much alike car driving around lol.

I only caught a quickish glimpse, but if it was this car, it looks even better in real.

lol yep that was probably me, went to tescos and then new brighton.
its a rare looking car because its a 5 door, they were only made i think from c reg to e reg so most of them are scrap
