Heavy rain & flooding Floods following heavy rain can occur anywhere and result from the drainage system being overwhelmed, rising groundwater levels or rivers and watercourses overtopping their banks.
The Environment Agency work with Wirral Council to offer a flood warning service. Flood Warnings will be broadcast on your local radio, television, internet and teletext when flooding to your property is expected. You will also be able to access flood warnings by calling Floodline.
To find out whether or not your property is at risk from river flooding and to sign up to the free floodline warnings direct service, to receive warnings by phone, text, e-mail, fax or pager call 0845 988 1188
