We used to have lots of wild birds visit our garden. Gold finches, blue tits and many more. This year we have been inundated with magpies who appear to have chased them all away. Does any one have any suggestions on how to get rid of these bullies ?

Play recordings of rooks or crows in distress at periodic intervals. The sound can alarm the magpies and cause them to leave due to the possibility of a predator or other hazard in the area.
