Is anyone having signal problems on EE?

I've had a contract through Orange since I can remember. Once they were combined and ran by EE though, I've had nothing but signal problems. Calls cutting off, trouble sending and receiving texts, 3G not working.

I've spoken to EE via Twitter numerous times, and just told to do certain things with my phone which have changed nothing. I've called Orange/EE directly and been given that many excuses I've lost count. My best one being - The signal from the mast closest to me (Brackenwood) doesn't reach as far as my house (Stanton Road). I've had loads of other stupid excuses too, so I'll scroll through twitter to find them.

I've also noticed on Twitter that I'm not the only person with these problems, and not the only person getting these excuses.

Its now starting to get to a point were I just want to throw my phone at a wall, as trying to do the simplest of things on the internet is getting rather frustrating. I'm paying £36 a month for this service, which works when it decides to. I'm not willing to pay my way out of the contract though as I don't believe I should have to.

Has anyone else had similar problems to me, and have they been solved?

i'm fine.

had a very good signal all day (in prenton). and generally a very good signal anyway at home (new brighton)

though i'm on T-Mob/EE not Orange/EE if that makes ANY difference (don't see how it should)

Fine for me too. Have you tried powering your phone off and on?

That is one of the things they've told me to do.

Full reset. Sim swap. Turn 3G off/on. Change roaming settings.

You name it, they've asked me to do it.

They've even said it could be a problem with the blackberry and to get it sent off, which I have done, and it came back with no problems.

They're making it up, there's nothing wrong with your phone OR your SIM.

Have a look at this WATCHDOG report broadcast last week.


Basically what it boils down to is transmitters being turned off.

Now Orange & T-Mobile are EE they don't need both, so some are going off, this is fine as they're being replaced with 4G ones. The problem arises when you connect via a 4G, lose the signal part way through and it doesn't have a 3G one to drop back onto.

So basically, 3G will become obsolete soon for EE? I've had this going on with them for months now, and just submitted a complaint to the communications ombudsman. Let's hope that gives them a bit of a kick up the arse to sort it out!

I'm with t-mobile/EE, I've noticed problems with sending texts and loss of signal.

I have had trouble from the day EE took orange. They turned off the Orange transmitters around Moreton Shoreto convert them to 4G.
The signal from Leasowe shore to Meols virtually disappeared.
I complained vigorously and Orange (EE) gave me a local hub which connects via the 'phone line. Now the signal around my house is great, and for anyone in the vicinity of the house.
Perhaps if we all complain they will give everyone one of these hubs and the costs will mount.
I think that they real reason they turned off is because they cost less that way. Certainly ther is no sign of work being carried out on them!

Orange are old hat, they USED to be the best, now they're overpriced and rubbish.

Vodafone were overpriced but they are great now and i have never had any signal problems.

I have got 5 contracts with T-mobile/EE. I called into Birkenhead shop the other day any asked them to make two SIM cards smaller so they would fit a couple of iPhones I'd recently purchased. (Now I know Vodafone do this free of charge for there customers). I was shocked when the assistant told me it would cost £10 each. I told them to do one and asked when all my contracts expire as I will be ending them all as soon as they do. I walked down the road to the Key Cutting place next to the Pyramids, opposite where woollies used to be and they charged me a grand total of £2.
Tmobile/EE! If your reading this, your crap!

For me they're just the opposite. Got a great handset for just £99, down from £199, and it was reduced even further with the public sector discount and phone fund discount, making it less than £70.

On PAYG I stick on £10. That gives me 300 free texts and 1Gb of Internet. When that expires at the end of the month I just use my credit for calls, internet and texts, and then just put on another tenner after that, which is working out at £5 a month.

As for signals, great 3G in Oxton.
