The BBC and ITV have reached a joint agreement with UEFA for the live UK TV and new media rights to all 32 matches of Euro 2008.

Precise details of match coverage will be released following the tournament draw next year but it is understood that the deal covers live and highlights coverage for TV, internet and mobile platforms.

"It will be great for our audiences to have Euro 2008 available from BBC Sport on television, on radio and online," said BBC director of sport Roger Mosey. "Combined with the Beijing Olympics, it should be an amazing summer of sport."

"Securing these rights is great news for both broadcasters and our viewers," said ITV director of news and sport Mark Sharman. "Euro 2008 will be one of the highlights of a very busy and exciting year of live football on ITV."

Ye have to love the way they go on about it as though they had competition, there is no way RTL (Channel 5) could have competed with them and Channel 4 have no money, and since the 3 major sporting events (the football world cup, football european championships and olympic games) currently have to be on a PSB, BSKYB arnt allowed to compete lol.
