Hi I was just a bit curious about Wirral Cottage and Station Cottage on Station Road, Birkenhead right next to Birkenhead North train station. I was just wondering if they were a part of the station at some point? Also if anyone knew how old the houses are?

They date from the time of the building of the line - 1866.
The name Wirral Cottage - actually refers to the name of the railway company at the time - The Wirral Railway....
Birkenhead North station was originally called Birkenhead Docks station and wasn't renamed until the 1920s.
Not part of the station - always housing - but likely built for employees to live in.
