Just had a collegue tell me how her little westie was savaged by an Alsation in a field near Storeton woods on Sunday afternoon. Fortunately the little westie suffered mainly moderate cuts and has required no more than a load of stictches around the rear of its neck, pain killers and tlc thus far and will hopefully make a full recovery over time, though the vet has warned that due to the way dogs sink their teeth, there may be muscle damage.
The collegues daughter managed to get the reg of the car the Ally's owner was driving before he fled the scene, and unfortunately for him, her husband works for the drugs squad in Liverpool, so it is now a police matter.
Afaik, the owner has been seen in the area walking his dog around Storeton woods previously, but lives around the Rock Ferry area. He is known to walk the dog without a lead, with no regard for the safety of other dogs or indeed humans. So everyone please be on your guard.
can i just say that the discription is very close to me as i have an alsation ,i live in rock ferry and my dog is always off the lead but she is called marley and everybody knows her and she wouldnt harm a fly so if you see me in the woods its not me or marley ...just incase the police are there to catch someone
Im pretty sure you will be safe, from what I understand her husband was able to trace the nob through the PNC/DVLA database using his reg plate.
Apparently the vet said Alsations are known to attack smaller dogs, so something to be aware of. He told them he see's more attacks by Alsations than any other breed, though he did say that could be linked to the fact they are the most popular breed of dog??
I have a Westie and for some reason he hates Alsations we have had him since a pup and he has never had any confontation with one but he just hates them he gets on great with most other breeds his best mate is a black lab it is just Alsations he has a problem with
Most popular breeds are Staffies or Bull Terrier crosses judging by the lost dogs in the pound and what you see out. This is a terrible example of poor training.
Get trained properly like Ceasar!
