Can anyone recommend any decent vets in wirral? Preferably in Wallasey? Had a bad experience with seaview rd where we always used to go. Cats not too well and need to take her today but i dont get home til nearly 6.

Never had a problem with Seaview personally, that's where Rosie the dog goes.

However, Parkside were excellent when dealing with my poor old cat Barney (RIP) - so I'd definitely recommend them.

We took our 16yr old cat a couple of years back, as she seemed like she had a stroke or something. They told us she had renal failure, weren't very helpful at all, and only suggestion really was to put her to sleep due to her age. We wouldn't do it, and she got better and 2 years on shes still here lol
We think our other cat has something similar to appendicitis, as she was never spayed. Weve booked her in to Broadway on Wallasey Rd later on today, so fingers crossed she will be ok!

I'd never advise anyone to take an animal to parkside either. They don't give a stuff about animals its all about the money. They refused to come out to one of our Satan Bernards when he was kindling with Epilepsy and by the time we got him help (from Broadway) he was braindead. It's Broadway vets in Wallasey and they're great.

Me too had problems, same thing dog having fits, wouldn't come out just said put her in dark room on her own and leave her!!

Allport vets came out straight away when i phoned them, even tho i wasn't a customer, but its in bromborough so most prob too far to travel.
They are very caring with your pets and its not all about money, they let me pay over several months when i was struggling for cash.

oh thats good that you recommend Broadway smile
I'm quite shocked about Parkside though, as when our dog died we took him there and they were really friendly. Don't think we ever got any treatment there tho.

I cant believe that Vets can get away with treating pets like this. Its awful hearing all the things some of you have said frown
I saw the other post before about emergency numbers for pets and noticed the Birch Vets one for callouts, were they expensive Hoseman?

Broadway were great with us. Parkside refused to come out i phoned and phoned as ted'd been kindling most of the night and it was give him another potassium bromide and he'll be ok. Then when my husband phoned because he thought it was rediculous, the head of practice had the cheek to say i was over emontional and he'd be ok with the tablets. So we phoned Broadway and explained the situation to them. They said it wasn't proffessional practice to step on another vets toes, but they'd come out and assess ted for us. When they got here the only way to stop him fitting as it had been so long (5 hours), was to very carefully dose him over 15 mins with the stuff they euthanise dogs with. but they said he was probably braindead as his brain had overheated from the fitting. They were disgusted with the treatment we'd had from Parkside and i believe wrote the head of practise a scathing letter saying so. Parkside even refused to refund 125 pounds of pills we'd gotten from them the day before and were unopened, so through Broadway we donated them to people who had dogs with epilepsy . Teds brain and spinal cord went to royal liverpool vetinary hospital to help other dogs with epilepsy, so he didn't die in vain. But if Parkside had come out and given him a shot of adrenaline then he would've been ok. We paid through the nose for the service and they let us down . I'd Never recommended them to anyone

Had bad experiences with Parkside and Broadway with Fawn, our last Lab.
Had to ring an emergency vet one sunday and ended up going to Ian Beveridge at Daryl Road in Heswal.
He was fantastic and he ended up looking after her for the last eight months of her life.
Needless to say when we got Indie as a pup we registered her with him straight away.
I realise it's a long way to go but if you're mobile I can guarantee 100% your cat will be in good hands.

Tilli is fine now thanks smile apparently caught her just in time! Shes had injections and is on some antibiotics. She seems a lot happier too. My mum said Broadway Vets were really friendly and helpful. Have to take her back soon to be spayed but so far i would definitely recommend using that vets!
