Disruption to bus services following floods DUE to severe flooding there is major disruption to bus services across Merseyside this afternoon.
In Wirral, road closures remain in place around the Bromborough Cross area.
In Liverpool there are major floods in Princess drive, Melwood Drive, Childwall Valley Road, Aigburth Road, Speke Boulevard, Allerton Road near Queens Drive and the Library. As a result, all services are running approx 15 mins late. There is also a police incident in the Bakers Green area. There is no access to Aigburth Vale so services are diverting along Aigburth Road. All services in South Liverpool are affected in some way. There are road closures in St.Helens around Peasley Cross. Southport and Runcorn relatively unaffected apart from services from Runcorn towards Liverpool via Childwall and Speke. Merseyrail is operating normally apart from services on the Northern Line between Liverpool Central and Hunts Cross which will be off for the rest of the day (bus replacement in operation) – this was due to a tunnel fire and not weather related.
