The body of a 45-year-old woman has been discovered at a house on Wastdale Drive, Moreton.

The discovery was made in the early hours of Saturday morning, and is currently being categorised as an unexplained death.

A local man has been arrested in connection with the death and has been released on police bail until February, pending further enquiries.

Merseyside Police confirmed nobody else is being sought in connection with the incident.

According to neighbours, the woman was disabled and lived with her partner.

One, who asked to remain anaonymous, said: "They've lived there a good few years.

"She was in a wheelchair and I would see them now and again when he was pushing her to the shops."

A Home Office mortem has been carried out and police are currently awaiting toxicology reports.
