But they never admitted that council tax is illegal .... in the circumstances given and to whom they claimed against, there would be no liability for council tax.

Looking at the rest of the tpuc site, there is a lot of bluff by just blocking anything that comes their way, that doesn't mean what the tpuc do, or suggest, is legal.

Okay folks... so if we stop paying our council tax, how do the essential services that are funded by it, keep running?

Are you saying you don't owe the money?

Out of all of the services they offer matt I use all of none of them, the only one I use is the police from time to time, but thats only to report other peoples problems. If some thing is wrong in my life I will handle it my self.

I think sanchez you get more out of council tax than you think.
refuse collection, highways, street cleaning, leisure centres, park & recreation grounds, planning & building control, environmental health, education, social services, libraries, licensing and probably more.

Are you saying, we should ditch the police service, so we don't have to pay any council tax? Do you not need your rubbish collecting, do you want the streets full of peoples rubbish? Do you never walk down the pavements etc? What if your house catches fire, you happy for it to be burnt down to nothing because the fire service are not there?

If we don't pay for these essential services through our council tax, then we will pay for them through some other means. Knowing the Labour government, it will mean either another increase in fuel duty, which would probably mean another 50% added to the cost of fuel, and/or higher taxes for the poorest people in society.

At this present momnent and time I use absolutly none of them, and im not being pig headed here I acyually dont. Not even bin collecting as I go to clatterbridge were i am charged.

As for enviromental health well.......thats a joke and education.......perhaps if I have kids. Seriously I cant think of anything I use.

And Im pretty sure that on my bill for council tax it is only broken down to 3 things

1. police
2. fire
3. rubbish collection.

The tax on the money I earn pays for the rest of the things that you stated.
