Police in Merseyside are appealing for the public's help to find out how a 42-year-old man died.

The man, who has not been named, collapsed in Litherland Road, Bootle, in the early hours of 9 June.

Merseyside Police said he was taken to hospital suffering from a head injury but died on Friday.

Officers want to speak with anyone who may have been in the area at the time to help establish how he suffered the head injury.

The man, who is from Litherland, is described as white, about 5ft 10in (1.77m) tall, with brown hair and clean shaven.

He was wearing a navy blue Fred Perry polo shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Although his death is not being treated as suspicious, police are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.
