Basically my 07 astra sxi coupe all worked fine up until some point today... well, about 20 past 5.
Left work and went to cheshire oaks, windows open because of the heat, got to cheshire oaks, parked and went to put my windows up and passenger one went up fine as per but the drivers one somehow didn't. Long story short, got it home, took the door panel off and the tape underneath and the X shaped mechanism thing that rises and lowers the window is all buckled and the window can go up with a LOT of coaxing and messing but it's on a 45 degree angle so there's 2 corners where someone can quite easily get their hand in. I have secured the car for tonight but can anyone point me in the right direction for help??
I called vauxcare earlier and he can't do it till Tuesday and I cant wait that long due to the security issue.
Need this sorted ASAP as you can imagine.
Thanks

Ok, as a security issue it takes someone to have a key to rob a car these days. As long as you take out your sat nav or whatever bits, you really don't have to worry. I`d wait till Tuesday unless someone else has a quicker fix by someone. Don't lose any sleep over the car, it will still be there in the morning.

If the (window regulator) is buckled it will need to be replaced not just straightened. Try Wirral spares who can normally suppy or supply and fit. 0151 651 2228

sorted it at Vauxhall Lookers in Chester for a total of £205
needed to be done and so had to pay it.
manufacturer garages may be a bit more expensive but at least they come with the warranty's etc. and i have to say, they were absolutely brilliant and the customer service is impeccable. i noticed the part itself was £88 inc vat so less than £120 for them to plug it in to the machine to diagnose the problem (which was £59.95 for them just to plug it into the damn diagnostic machine) and also fit the part, which needed rivets drilled out and new ones put in as well as messing around inside a hole in the door which is about the same size as a CD i don't think is actually too bad. it's not a job i'd have felt comfortable doing even if i had an infinite number of ell the parts and tools at my disposal.
