Just bought a little runabout while my Hyundai Coupe is SORNed due to various jobs needing doing. It's a W Punto in red. The paintwork has got that fading that I thought was exclusive to Vauxhalls. Will a T Cut and polish restore colour? Any tips or links to valetters who can do this? Also it has a blue interior! Surely this wasn't standard on a red car? Thanks chaps.

T-Cut, polish and a lot of elbow grease!
They do a specific red T-cut but don't know if it is any better than the regular stuff though...

I imagine it needs cutting back to remove the oxidised layer of red paint then sealing with something like Auto Balm wax/sealant to stop the problem returning in a hurry.
Get a machine on it. Speak with _Ste_ as he worked wonders on his E30.

If it's old, use 2500 grit sandpaper on it. It won't scratch it, but it will remove that layer of paint that has become oxidised, but don't forget to polish and wax it afterwards.
