It will fail the mot if the tyres foul the bodywork on full lock. No problem with putting your 14's on for the day and then swap back after the car has passed happy

As far as the height is concerned your car should be the same height with either wheels on, all it means is more wheel and less tyre on the 17's but the car height should remain the same eitherway think

Every car i have had has been dropped by 60mm even had 1 done 80mm never had a problem with them failing for fouling the bodywork (man thats a mouth full). My ride runs 14" as standard has 17" on now and it rubs on full lock but when do you ever take a corner on full lock unless your sideways which seems to happen to me for some strange reason <img border="0" alt="[Roll around the floor laffin]" title="" src="graemlins/cwemotions065.gif" /> rear wheel drive is so much fun. The only time mine rub is when i park and thats slow speed so its not going to bugger the tyres much.

drifting drifting and yet more skidding

OKay then, Under the current M.O.T. Regulations a car "SHOULD" Fail for the tyres scrubbing or fouling the bodywork, However if the M.O.T. Tester is someone whom you know then he may well let it go for you ??

Every M.O.T. is different because it is carried out by a human, therefore every M.O.T. Tester has different opinions and descrepancies, it is common place for one garage to fail a car any you could take it to another garage and they could pass it, Both M.O.T.'s perfectly Legal just one tester using his descression more than the other smack
