was given some free foilatec engine paint yesterday, and dazza gave me his old rocker cover to, so i decided to put the two together and see what the cover looked like red.

i had to mix some hardner with the paint, which i done, so i painted the cover and left it overnight to dry. checked it this morning and the paint still feels a little bit soft so im just wondering if i didnt put enough hardner in, and if i brushed some hardner over it would this work?

anyone used thi stuff before?? confused

cool

the paint was a pain to do, as it was really thin, an you have to use it quick, so its came out quite bumpy, so if i used some 1200 wet and dry would it take the shine off the paint??

I am always wary buying cars with painted/jet washed engines.

Dont know why, just looks dodgy unless done to an amazingly high standard.

To be honest, rocker / cam covers dont really get that hot.

The high temp paint is quite thick, and is hard to get a perfect finish frown

I used normal 2 pac paint and laquer on mine, and never had any problems with the paint bubbling or blistering - even on the right hand side where it is very close to the manifold:

they only got it in black daz frown

thats a really profesional looking finish you've got there stuy eek

i painted it about 2 weeks ago and the paint still feels a bit sticky, an i've covered a couple hundred miles since then, i might try and smooth it down with some wet+dry then put a thin layer over with plenty of hardner in it to make it look a bit smoother, and hopefully dry completly hard.
