Former WRC champion co-driver Robert Reid will compete on the Richard Burns Memorial Rally next weekend.

Reid, who co-drove Richard Burns to the World Rally drivers' title back in 2001, will link up with Markko Martin, as they give the new Subaru Impreza WRC2008 its debut run in the UK.

The announcement was made last week ahead of the charity event, which is being held to celebrate the life and achievements of England's only World Rally champion."SWRT are delighted to be able to support this event with Markko driving the new Impreza WRC2008," said SWRT managing director, Richard Taylor last month, after it was confirmed that Martin would represent Subaru at RAF Marham airfield, Norfolk, over the weekend of September 13-14.

"Richard was an icon of the team and a great World champion for Subaru. We hope the event is a success and that everyone involved as a competitor, organiser or spectator has an enjoyable weekend."

The Richard Burns Memorial Rally is run by the Kings Lynn & District Motor Club (KLDMC). The single-venue tarmac rally will feature over 100 competitors and take in stages of 10-12 miles.
