Hi ive just bought a Tacho for my punto £25 quid in halford in Brombourgh, it was very easy to fit yourself there are four wires one to the ignition, one to the battery, one to your cars body and the other to your rev meter sensor, this one you could ask your dealership what colour wire and where it is or just pay a auto electrician to point out which wire it is. They are great when fitted they change colours and has a progaramable shift light. hope that is of some help

As a rough guide, one of the wires should attach to the coil and one to the earth (the body). In theory, the amount of power given off from ignition coil determines how much power is going into the engine revolutions, so this can be passed to the rev counter, which is a simple dial powered not by a computer, but by simple voltage (on my car anyway). By the way, the coil gives out 20,000 volts, and should NOT be messed with when the engine is turning.
