Quote fish "question is , can we produce enough food without mass farming methods"?

Questions from previous centuries no doubt :-

Well how can we continue to produce enough material if we have to keep stopping the machines to clear the mess underneath ,instead of having small children crawling around doing it,it wouldnt be practical or cost effective.Cant be done.

How on earth would we clean out the large houses chimneys without the chimney boys going up, we'd have to charge twice as much to find a better way.Ridiculous idea.

What? Get rid of our slaves? No way, they need the jobs and they dont feel the same as us anyway.Large houses and estates couldnt survive without slaves, it would change our way of life. No way!

You want us to stop putting freaks in our circus ?- but the public love to see them - its a right laugh, and they make us loads of dosh and they cant work anywhere else, you must be mad to ask.

Why do we need to put the loonatics in decent accommodation-it would cost a mint and its not like they are proper human beings, and anyway,we make money out of the gentlefolk being entertained by them.Forget it!

The answer is ,fish, if something is morally wrong,its morally wrong, and you must find an alternative way even if its more expensive and requires huge compromise. Applied to the question you are asking, -- until science finds a way of making non sentient meat sources, then meat eating must be cut back severely, so that the fewer animals that are eaten , can be given a humane life and death.

I know religious people believe their god put animals on the earth for them to eat, but probably their god at that time never invisaged Eve would gobble the apple and mankind would grow to be so cruel! wink

There are plenty of places in the world where there is NO meat eating so its not a health problem to be vegetarian , probably the reverse actually with the amount of drugs that go into our food sources .

Ive just watched your chick video fish, its extremely sanitized. Doesnt show or tell the upsetting parts like the male chicks are often put alive in a crusher, electrocuted by a wire or gassed to death.
Thats part of the problem ,people dont get to know the most horrible things , partly because the industry hides the truth, and partly because its too upsetting to watch undercover films which reveal it. Therefore there isnt enough outcry by people who WOULD be caring if they knew.

I find it "cruel" enough even though we only see the sanitised bit--poor chicks. I think if anyone sees the way any animal is slaughtered even if it has had a "good life" they would find it upsetting. In a perverse kind of way the killing of an animal that is living in cages with heaps of s**t below it seems more merciful than killing an animal that is having a good life roaming the fields.

Code
[url=ADDRESS]TEXT[/url]

ADDRESS is the address which must begin with http://
TEXT is word/words you want to appear.

A little demonstration to link to google but make it appear as SEARCH you type in .....

Code
[url=http://google.co.uk]SEARCH[/url]

Which should produce ...

SEARCH

(ignore the code boxes, I have to use them so you can see what I typed, it also doesn't have to be capitals but makes it visually clearer that its a link if they are)

Those poor little chicks. Arrival in this monstrous world.

Without taking chicks into account, how much food does one animal eat per day? More than each human, so why not save the cost of the food on animals, cost of running these enormous factories etc. The food still has to be grown, processed, manufactured, . Why can't they spend the same amount of time growing human food ? Orchards to increase wildlife to increase honey production for example.

Do we really need meat ? I once asked a vegetarian what she had for her Sunday dinner. Answer: "The same as you without the meat". Makes sense, but the meat tends to be the 'filler' and 'chew factor ' for the rest of us. We can chew raw carrots and fill up on cabbage. Don't think I could not manage total vegan, but could definitely manage veggie. Cheaper too.
