Was thinking about this the other week, and just worked out how to word it in text.
Basically, when I had the Jag from work I noticed the tax on it was £115 per year which is nearly 1/2 the price of what I pay on the 180.
The jag is a heavier car, and the type of car that it is sterio types it for being a rep mobile, doing millions of miles, and thus doing more damage to the roads than the 180.
However, the Jags emmissions are super low - like most new cars, and the car gets a discount for this.
I could understand this price scheme for smaller cars, ie, super minis etc, where they have very low emmissions, are light and do less damage to the roads....
So, is this new car tax scheme really an environment tax?
If so, where does the money for roads come from? Petrol?
...no wonder its so expensive
