I enjoyed watching that, it felt so civilised and quaint Deffo for the middle classes though. I could watch all these kind of nostalgic films all night.
Good viewing. Remembered the bakery work from the 60's, I used to do work there when home on leave to supplement my leave pay, or should I say to supplement the breweries'.
Strange title "Round Wirral...etc". Very little of Wirral. I wonder who promoted it? Maybe the Chamber of Commerce. Wonderful commentary by Mr. Cholmondeley-Warner. Interesting terminology for a mortgage: "you pay your rent in the normal way and after a given period the house becomes your own". On a personal nostalgic note, the view of the Mount Rd. Co-op, from the top of my road, Ben Nevis Rd, with the woods behind which after the war became the Mount Estate.
Fascinating bit of film. I wonder, in view of the title, whether it was just a clip from a much longer film.
Fantastic find, really enjoyable. Does anybody know if the Mount Road garage featured in the film the old Cheshire Brothers site that is now a newish housing development?
