It is extremely easy for the media to make any subject an emotive one. Fracking has been going on for many years in this country under different names.

UCG was patented in 1910, first trials were in 1928.

Hydraulic Fracking was first performed in 1947 which was developed from explosive fracking which dates back to 1865 and later acid fracking in the 1930s.

Leaders debate, although I agree that Milliband should be wary of Sturgeon, he should not have closed the door on the SNP, or is this another pseudo-gamesmanship like the Tories and UKIP would not consider a coalition until recently?

The green party I am liking less and less the more they speak, for an Australian to come over and stay because she "liked Britain and the British", then state she became a politician to change things, then also to state very pro-immigration stance seems absurd.

However, a coalition of Labour, Green, SNP and Plaid Cymru (which was effectively offered to Milliband) would seem a viable option provided the SNP dropped the second referendum requirement.

None of them answered right-to-buy in terms that made sense. It is of course a simple bribe at this stage of parliament.

My concern of right-to-buy is the number of buyers who plan to sell after 5 years as was the case when Thatcher did it years ago, finance companies were going door-to-door round council estates offering financial plans in advance.

I was glad I watched it which I wasn't going to and feel better informed. For Cameron not to appear, and worse, to not let Clegg appear shows his thoughts on democracy.

I'm a nationalist, in recent times we had successive governments weakening (giving away) the United Kingdom which in my mind is treason.

It's sad that people on benefits looking for jobs are defined as 'ordinary' now.

What does that make me if I go for a job interview next week? Extraordinary?

Oh, and if I didn't turn up, I wouldn't get the job. But if I was being paid to turn up to the interview then I wouldn't expect to keep the money.

This process of live debates, only having been used at the last General Election and now this one, is to my mind not a good idea. America do seem to have a far more 'adult' quality about it, whereas our political leaders use it as a platform to ridicule and taunt each other. They shout each other down, interrupt ,and laugh at each other . These are supposed to be people of high esteem and who expect us to vote for them as representatives of our countries, and they are a total disgrace.

Did anyone watch Question time last night ? Yet again a despicable display of Grant Chaps and Yvette Cooper having a 'set to'. He was less aggressive, but she, as always, shouts over everyone as soon as they should touch on something she doesn't want the audience to hear. It's a tactic being used by many now and it's downright rude to the point that the audience last night didn't have a clue what anyone was saying. That was obviously the plan. Dimbleby needs to get a grip of it, but the BBC interviewers are just as bad, particularly on Newsnight.

Definitely going to vote Tory now, they may review the tunnel tolls if re elected, and if we believe that then we deserve them back in power, what a blatant piece of bribery, I would like to know were the money is coming from to pay for all of Daves election goodies, what happened to getting the deficit down? and you are spot on granny they are supposed to be people of high esteem, honourable members of parliament,so how is it we have thieves, liars and child molesters among them representing us?

Amazingly Piers Morgan was spot on, for a guy that can be seen as childish and manipulative of the truth he played the straight line last night.

That other program that was put on in the lobby after the debate and before question time was a total mess, the female interviewer did well, the politicians and male interviewer were just an embarrassment.

Morgan is ultimate fame sycophant. Obsessed with being in the limelight.
Ive just watched farage getting the usual boring nit picking at him by fascist conservative puppet media. Its so transparent and sad how the state see him as a threat and go on & on about every minute point about his views or policies etc.
Theres no diff in the parties theres NO democracy it doesnt exist.
The banks are the powerful bully in the room....both obama and cameron or brown had the talk in 2008 with banks and they ordered " look weve spent all money .sort us out or your sacred countrys going under . Or no votes for you EVER again..."

That seems like a fair assessment Svenlock.

Just watched a debate on defence and couldn't for the life of me see why the tory spokesperson couldn't give a straight "yes or no" answer (which was asked several times)to the question which was " if there were a minority Labour gov in and there was a vote on renewing Trident and the SNP voted against it surely the conservatives would support labour"

Now am firmly convinced there are no such words in the political dictionary as yes or no to answer direct question and answers

If anyone thinks that any of them are telling the truth they are greatly mistaken. We're all doomed, it's just a case of waiting a few more days before finding out which crowd of tosspots are the ones to take us through the u-bend and that will just mean waiting to see if we end up at the sewer farm or being spewed out into the Mersey. All roads now lead to Armageddon.

Totally true, I think most voters are voting for who will do the least damage, the expectation of "do the most good" has long escaped.

Watched question time, a very strange affair as was to be expected.

Cameron: A very polished performance using many sound arguments but more than carefully avoiding a number of issues. Many of his hard line promises and "changes" are the same issues that he has not made any progress on during the last parliament.

Milliband: Fairly polished performance, he is obviously trying to counter his previous weak image by being extremely stubborn on some points, some idiot has told him to address people by name but of course he forgot some of the names he specifically asked for so the names became a bit of a sideshow. His stubborn anti-SNP stance is not doing himself any favours, he should tone it down to:- he would do a deal with SNP if they dropped the call for another Scottish referendum. I believe he addressed most issues he was asked.

Clegg: Started of pretty weak but got into the swing of things. His strong and persistent anti-Tory stance doesn't do him any favours when everybody knows he would jump into bed with them again at the drop of a hat. I got the impression that Dimbleby protected him on a few occasions. He was good at saying what he thought was wrong with the Left and Right solutions but quite often ducked what his middle solution was.

Cameron needs some more facts and also realise that slagging off Clegg is a pretty pointless exercise in his shoes.

Milliband needs to tone down the "I am leader, sod everyone else" and perhaps better choose which anti-Cameron policies he wants to highlight.

Clegg probably did more good for Milliband than himself and probably more damage to Cameron than Milliband achieved.

All three of them need to desperately realise that some people are not academically minded and shoving them into modern apprenticeships and universities ain't gonna happen.

If I had no background knowledge, Cameron would probably have won, as it is I just wish George Galloway was standing in every seat.

Love the remains of the Gray & Davison organ, its been rehashed many times (Trigger's new broom), Stole the whole show in my mind.

Milliband trying too hard to be "hard" a little too late. He says the same lines all the time without clarity.
Cameron like a robot kept going on about strong economy but the defecit is more than 5 years ago.

I hate the way cameron goes on about protecting pensions...he isnt his gov has robbed public sectors.
Nate silver was on bbc 1 saying even he thinks its a hung parliament.
his jobs prediction.
All this tosh cameron waffles about europe was never a thought till ukip threatened him.
