My wife has used a number of chemicals ( of mass destruction )over 7 years to clean tiles in shower also hair products.

Has anyone been successful in removing grout from between tiles so it can be regrouted.

I do not want to just use grout pens etc

I have tried everything over the years, in the end i purchased a small tool for grout removal for less than five pounds.

It took out enough so i could skim over with fresh grout,

i know this is tedious and takes time but it does work.

I have tried all recommended products...they don't work.

Also in future i am going to use a colour then you don't get a problem.

I`ve got a Readers Digest book that suggests using car wax over new tile grout. Topped up once a year or so. I know it seems tedious but when the grout goes yellow it looks ugly.

If you feel competent you can use an angle grinder with a stone cutting disc, but don't forget your PPE.

Use a Dremel drill or similar and the grinders that you can buy.

I think the Dremel idea is good, but you have to take the risk of some damage to the tiles; the Dremel can be a bit difficult to control accurately. It's what I'd use.

It will do the job but will make one hell of a mess. You might
regret using it. Snowhites idea of the grout tool is about the
only way but very work intensive. Be sure to wear knee pads.

sunnysides use of tool to scrape out grout is not so bad , i have used a similar thing purchased from b&q around 4 quid

done in sections if you have lots is quite easy i did all my bathroom with it paced myself, and did not notice the time flying by.

elbow grease is an old and tested cheap remedy and everyone has it.

check out toolstation. Their regrouting tools and grout is quite good on price. You will also need a sponge and bucket and something to put the grout on the wall with. The tiler I know says Forever White grout is best he has used --a bit dearer but worth it.
