Are there any types of jobs that will provide training for people with poor grades from school and lead to better jobs?

People are generally good at things they enjoy. Have you identified for starters what sort of thing youd like to be doing to earn your bread?

Care workers can get nvq's in that area and go on.

I flunked my exams, now work as a medical secretary (started as a receptionist and worked my way up) and didnt really know what i wanted to do, luckily the nhs will pay for me to do a nursing course and become a RMN (registered mental nurse) and go on to become a CPN/CMHN (Community Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse) which is what ive realised now is something id love to do.

Most jobs offer training to progress, you dont even have to start in the specific area you want to end up in, just somewhere in that general direction...

Plenty. There's more to a person than grades. I got a D in GCSE IT yet am an IT Director! Same when I employ, if people have the skills then I go for that first.

I'd rather take on someone with years of invaluable experience over someone with little but a good GCSE.

The best IT Technician I ever had was a guy who got a few GCSEs and nothing more, then spent over 20 years in a supermarket, from part time shelf stacker at school to duty manager. One day he'd just had enough and wanted to work in IT. He's now a manager himself.

I have looked online it's mainly part time jobs like Asda and some of the jobs it's beyond my reach as their asking for a good CV which I haven't got. If I could find something to do with computing full-time that would be great.

Keep an eye here, they're always recruiting in schools:

PM me if you want to do a bit of voluntary IT work to help boost your CV. I guarantee you won't be treated like a slave.
