The 25-year-old had been enjoying a small celebration with friends of the family who run the Farmers Arms Pub
in Frankby, following a large-scale public event, when the incident happened at around 12.20am.
Harry Demetrios, manager of the Hillbark Road Pub
, told how the woman had been pulled from the bonfire by her boss after she got her foot stuck as she tried to run over the dying embers.
He said: “It happened after the whole bonfire night was over.
“All that were left were the family and a few friends. The person who fell in works for my uncle.
“Everyone had had a bit to drink.
“The next thing she’s tried to run over the bonfire and her foot got stuck and she falls over.
“The police have said she’s not as bad as initially thought, she’s got some damage, some scarring towards her neck and towards her legs.
