Hi. I don`t know what had happened but I`ve just been on the motorway and its clear. If it was an accident they`ve cleared it up quicker than they did last week. Its flowing freely now.

AA website says this:
On the M53 southbound exit slip at junction J2 , there are currently delays of 10 mins due to roadworks closing one lane. Expect disruption until 5:00 am on 31 December 2014.
At 7.30 this morning traffic was very heavy southbound & stop-start after Clatterbridge.

Junction 2 southbound exit was closed for roadworks overnight and is for the next few weeks I think, closed from 22.00 till 05.00

Crossing Clatterbridge roundabout this morning the yellow high viz jackets were out surveying the slip road off M53 chester bound. Standing traffic again on the motorway itself. Not sure what can be done other than retiming the traffic lights to allow more off the motorway
