I wonder what affect a yes vote will have on ordinary folk.

Not sure if it will affect our voting as Scottish mps may lose the right to vote on English affairs and elections
Will Labour lose 41 seats Liberal Democrats 11 seats to the benefit of the Conservatives who'll lose 1 seat

2010 election
Conservative (306)
Labour (258)
Liberal Democrat (57)

Labour Party: 41
Liberal Democrats: 11
Scottish National Party: 6
Conservative and Unionist Party:1

If YES, we divorce Scotland and they pay their Union debts and go their own way, if NO, you pay their Union debts and all the other money the three Amigo's have promised Scotland and they go their own way, England and it's people can go to hell in a row boat for all Scotland cares about, yes the Union of England Scotland and Wales with NI is broken and can never be repaired.
EU regionalism rules, the LibLabCons have done what the EU wants, Labour tried to do it in the North East and lost.

I believe that is true Derek. Scotland's now Labour MP's, Liberal MP's and others will not be elected to Westminster, and why should they ? You don't have French MP's or any other European countries MP's in the British government.

The whole thing looks like a major mess. There are so many issues, including the BBC, passports, pensions, telecommunications, and so on. It would cost many companies and UK Government a massive amount to sort it all out.

That is how I understand it, but I am quite sure that there are others on here who are far more enlightened on the problems to be faced and dealt with.

Until the last few days, I'd been hoping for a "NO" vote. Now, with all the concessions the three wise monkeys have promised, I hope for a "YES" and let them get on with it. What I expect is a narrow "NO" majority, but I hope I'm wromg. I know why Millipede has been trying to keep them; without the Scottish MP's I doubt Labour could ever form another government.

The betting Chris is for a NO vote, follow the money, those nerds on blogs like Political betting make very few mistakes where money is involved, If NO we pay and the ordinary people of England will be forced to pay the people of Scotland, we already forced to pay in taxes £12 billion a year for foreign charities and GPS for Indian city taxi drivers, £400 million Brown gave on a USA tv charity show for mosquito netting, we won't get any charity, don't forget the £50million a day to the EU, no doubt we will end up paying it all.

Not to sure Granny as to why you would believe the garbage the telly makes, the BBC is already transmitting to different countries via satellite , the Scots like the IOM pay the telly tax they can still pay it through BBC world Services, the transmitters are privately owned, telecommunication assets are already in, unless, they need updating that will be paid for by the Scots, companies like Asda,Tesco, Morissons, M&S already deliver goods to their branches in countries around the world, so how would they have a problem with delivering to Scotland, mostly because they have been got at by the LibLabCons.

I think Scotlands plan (barring a few really hardcore Nationalists) is to actually achieve a no vote ,but keep it looking a close contest in order to screw the maximum perks, bribes and desired changes, from a nervous Cameron Govt.
I suspect which ever way it goes Scotland wont lose out , because our Govt is so soft . If its a yes ,first Scotland gets loads of British 'booty' yet if its economy nosedives severely and theres serious deprivation amongst its population WE will dip into our tax payers coffers and bail them out . If its a no - they will get the promised bribes which will enrich their lot, and then we will continue to fund them anyway.

If the YES vote wins, they will not be part of the European Union straight away. That will take a while.
In the meantime does that mean all the Scots who are working in the rest of the UK will have to have a work permit?

How come Scotland, Wales, N Ireland and England can each compete in the World cup if they aren't countries in their own right?

Why Granny in 1922? when Ireland was treated as not being a foreign country and the Irish came and went freely even during WWII, their's no reason why Scotland can't have the same status, I presume it will be part of the negotiations and will be a foolish thing to have a work permit, I can't really see why the EU wouldn't admit Scotland soonest, as half of the £50 million a day we pay to the EU comes from Scotland, the EU is a greedy dictatorship who needs all the funds to pay the EU countries it's bankrupted, their daily bread, coming soon to a country called England and another called Scotland.

People making all kinds of predictions about the result, what the effects are going to be, where it will leave us down here. Someone is going to be correct and somebody else is going to look a right chump. Either way it's going to be chaos.

As one comedian (cant recall who) put it: why doesnt england get a say? Its like being in a relationship with someone who for years has been all like "i'm leaving, i'm leaving, i'm leaving" at some point you're gonna get sick of their bulls#it and want to kick them out of your life.

Therefore i reckon we should get a say as to whether we tell scotland to pack its bags or not and give the relationship another shot.

I wish Scotland luck in whatever they vote for, I hope it's YES, England needs a kick up the behind to wake it from it's sleepwalking into serfdom in the EU, yes I hate the EU and I wish England was having a vote on Independence from the EU.
