Thought I`d have a change from Birkenhead Docks and post a few of Egremont Ferry

The Mersey covered in ice during the winter of 1895. A Wallasey ferryboat leaves the Egremont running out stage, and to the right a sailing ship anchored in the river.

Egremont ferry in the late 1890's. During this period Egremont and Seacombe began to rapidly expand as new houses and roads were built.

On the left of this view the buildings that belong to Wallasey ferries, in front of which on the shore was a grid-iron where ferry boats could be beached at Egremont for minor repairs

The Egremont pier collapsed while rebuilding work was being carried out on the ferry pier. This view of the buckled iron work is dated 14 February 1909
