upon my arrival to work today i was ever so slightly wicked off to find the council are campaigning for traffic calming methods on Burton Road in neston. This will only apply to people local in neston but you will if not already recieved a letter to inform you of there proposal to lay speed cushions along burton road...i personally think this is gettin ridiculous as it will mean 65% of neston will be restricted by speed bumps, and all those with lowered cars will struggle, i know i will when my car returns from the body shop... But this is beside the point, it will disturb flow of traffic and if my memory serves me right there has been no fatalities or accidents on burton road....unlike Liverpool road which has had several fatalities and many accidents but there are no proposals to put speed bumps there. This is totally un-necessary and a waste of government money... If you recieve a letter about this there is a counter-part in which you can voice your opinions and vote yes or no to these stupid traffic calming methods. VOTE NO!!!!

Why put speed bumps on such a busy road?!! It plays hell with lees lane and that's not half as busy! I probably won't get a letter as I'm on the other side of neston to you, so if there's any way I can still vote let me know.

I hate all speed bumps pretty much, except for ones that are in smart areas such as near schools where little kids may be running around for example.
The only positive thing is that new speed bumps are generally better made, the ones that are new around my area are really easy to get over compared to older ones. Even the newest triangle kind of ones are better because then arent as hi.
But still i say down with speed bumps!!

Speed bumps should be used in Roads that arent so busy yet have a steady flow of Traffic. i.e Shavington Way, Oxton. Main Roads such as Townfield Lane, Oxton should have speed camera's or something if the council want cars to slow down abit.

Speedbumps should only exist around schools/other areas where kids are likely to run into the road. Why the hell do they exist outside the odeon in bromborough,Cars go slow along there anyway but thats not enough for them, no they have to destroy my ****ing skirts dont they, also upton sainsburys, why are they there, its not like u can do anymore than 20 there anyway, and who wud?????
Theres 1 at the entrance to the rock.WHY???
Dont get me started on these as they are the bain of my life, they **** me right off, i mean..they dont cause any noticable damage but i go over them at a babycrawl pace.(proper slow baby, not molly cos she storms across the room lol)I H8 speedbumps

I don't like those whole speed bumps, as I've ripped my splitter off more than enough on them, but the ones where you straggle over with two wheels are alright. If the speed limit is 20, why do you have to go to 2 mph to get over them?? The little bumps you can over at 20mph though, they're alright.
I live on a main road (Teehey Lane) and I think these would be a blessing, as I see kids in their little 1.2's doing about 70 down my road. It would put a real damper on their day and that'd be worth it.

burton road being the road that goes down past ness gardens? i flipped a saxo on that road 4 years ago or is that neston road? i duno am crap with road names, but i agree aggy the amount of speedbumps is gettin rediculous and it causes alot of excess wear on your suspension and shocks, nto to mention bodywork damage if u catch your bumper on one! a petition for no more speed bumps even speed bump removal would be a fantastic idea

You were on neston road mate, burton rd starts at the mini roundabout at the bottom of neston and finishes somewhere by the wheatsheaf. I noticed they've got that flashing 30 limit sign now by burton rd primary, hopefully this is instead of the speed bumps. Still, it could just be something the chavs mess around with trying to set it off.

Has anyone been down Town Lane in Bebington? There are 15 speed bumps along a mile, they're about 10 inches high and are square in shape. You have to go over them at 5mph, or you get a sharp crack, it's like driving into a kerb. They are wide so you can't straddle them. The thing is, they have a set about 4 metres from the junction?!? What for, like you're going speed up and stop at the give way? ~I'd hate to live down that road, it is a nightmare driving down it.

if you were really enthuastic you could hit the speed bumps on town lane at around 30 - 40 and look like rally driver! i say no too speed bumps too, when my car eventually does get on the road its going to be low, and i don't want to be pivoting on stupid speed bumps like a see saw! oh and i blame shaun for the speed bumps on town lane, only because every morning he used to floor it up that road in his old si! thats one way to wake the neighbours!
always looking for those bigger bunches of bananas!
