Fiesta? leaves room for moddin. I personally think you were headin the right direction with the escort. How about a Rover 214? looks sweet with alloys n a boot spoiler <img border="0" alt="[cwhelp]" title="" src="graemlins/cwemotions041.gif" />

Depending on ins!!
But for around £1500 you can get a VW Polo G40 only 500 of these came in to Britan between 1990 and 1993 they are an all time classic go kart.
Engine is a 1.3 Supercharged SOHC running 113bhp as standard in a car weighing around 950kg. a filter and exhaust with de-cat will push the hp up to around 130-135!! but the skys the limit iv'e seen these tunned upto 180-190

I was despratly after a Polo G40 a few months back, they are very hard to find.
As 20vgolf says, they are the all time classic go kart, amazing performance out of a "grandad" style car.
There is one floating around in the Darkcruisers Warrington meet.

Metro GTA?? Another grandad car with go cart handling and lightening quick performance. Does 0-60 in 5.5!
Plenty of pugs around mate, what about 106/205/306? all have cheap insurance.

Metro GTA in 5.5 secs? U sure?
I thought the AX GTI was faster than the Metro, the the AX only does it in bout 9 secs.

There is one floating around in the Darkcruisers Warrington meet. Yep they are hard to find i've just managed to by a G40 complete engine and box to stick in my Mk1, the engine has had to come from Kent and cost a bit, but a Mk1 Golf G40 should be fun!!

5.5 seconds to 60 from a front wheel drive car? I doubt it http://www.rover100.co.uk/gta_se.htm http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/car/?car=48334 A second review, 0-60 time is quoted at 11 seconds. Not sure if I'd trust an older rover, they do suffer from ALOT of head problems, however, they're dead cheap when they go wrong, swings and round abouts I guess. The king of this size car HAS to be the Charade GTir, there's alot of these little beasts that can kill an Impreza Classic (standard of course), in a line. Same is true with the Renault 5 GT Turbo, both of them, light as farts with excess of 100 bhp, and easy to tune. http://www.daihard.org/ http://www.gttioc.co.uk/
