Recently I've been subjected to a renewed round of Internet fraudsters trying to part me from my money. They (Usually with an Indian accent) call on the landline and introduce themselves as working for Microsoft, and then they ask you to open the Event viewer in Windows.
They ask if there are any errors showing in the viewer. (Don't be fooled, there are ALWAYS errors showing in the event viewer on any computer) They then ask you to download some software and they'll fix it for you. DON'T DO IT!
Believe me, the only thing they'll fix, is your bank account.
First of all, Microsoft NEVER cold call.
Secondly, if you tell them that you too work for Microsoft, they mysteriously hang up.
If you look for the number they called from, it's offshore.

ANYONE or company who rings you up on a landline saying they "are someone" ......the phone goes down. Simple esp if its a foreigner

Hang up on all cold calls, eventually people will not be able to make an honest living that way and we'll know if we get one it's a con artist.
