Carpets and water in passenger footwell. Thought it was a previous problem of rear washer water pipe joint come apart but that was all fine. It was noticed after we just had heavy rains. Cleared load of muck from bottom of windscreen.Hoping that will resolve the leak.
Regarding the water-it has soaked not only the carpet but the "insulation" on the rear of the rubberised underlay. Wondering if the best option is to carefully cut out the rubberised underlay dry off and put back. Previously the carpet dried out ok. Anyone had to deal with similar problem
Often caused by a leaking heater/air con radiator. Wet your finger in the water and taste it, if it's sweet, it's coolant and is that rad. If not, it's probably rainwater and you may have fixed the problem.
If you think that tasting your finger just damp with anti-freeze is going to do you any harm, you're mistaken. The lethal dose of pure ethylene glycol is about 0.4 grams/kilogram body weight, so for a 60 Kg. person, 24 grams.
