I went for WesternDigital Live Box.
Its a new technology so i would go the cheapest, as its bound to be superseded in a few months. I did read about 6 months ago there were wifi issues with the chrome-cast.
Just be aware if your device its self, will not hide the wifi transmission to your router. common issue. So check up on USB extension cables.
Hope that helps.

in a similar situation, not sure whether to get a roku lt or a chromecast i really want the chromecast but its very limited at the moment. it doesnt let you stream local content, ie your own pictures, videos or and videos you may have downloaded onto your laptop. even music that you put into your google play it wont stream. has to be movies/music bought from the play store. because the android dongles have the micro sd slot, i can play films direct to my basic tv using it. because of that, im edging toward the android stick. £36.99 or £48 with the wireless air keyboard
