Bit late now, I know, but can anyone suggest a way of relieving our dog's fear of bangs?
She is only now recovering from the trauma of bonfire night when even a distant bang sent her scurrying to her bunker under my desk and leaning against my leg, trembling.
She's five now, and if anything her fear has got worse over the years rather than better.

Our dog is also terrified and with fireworks going on for days before the 5th and days after it she is still terrified even now to go out in the garden in the dark.We try everything all to very little avail, all she wants to do is sit between us and look for a bit of shelter. She is 5 as well and every year is the same.

A friend of mine gets some doggy Valium from her vets, just a few tablets to cover the worst days. It might be worth speaking to them ahead of next year.
