I need to get a hold of a star map or image of the position of the stars over Liverpool on the 12th of August 2013, around mid day if possible and was wondering if anyone could help me as I don't have a clue where to start.

Jabber's suggestion of Stellarium is a good one. A warning though.... it can be be a great absorber of time! My son works at the Royal Observatory in Edinburger and says it's one of the best sites to use.
