Hi Tilly hi

Seems as if the owner might have disappeared anyway, if someone else is feeding it.

Good thanks, how about you?

I don't understand why the RSPCA decided to go out after dark!
Unless they have a magic potion to entice the cat, how are they going to find it?
Is anyone given a choice as to what happens to it, i.e.if the owner can't be traced?
Can't go to bed tonight, it's like a vigil, waiting for the next bit of news. coffee

Thank you for contacting the RSPCA with this additional information.
A officer went to the address last night, but was unable to get the cat.
If you are able can you please monitor the situation and inform us if there is any deterioration in the cat's condition. or if you do manage to confine the cat.

Kind regards
RSPCA National Control Centre

My replie:
I have posted a letter through the ladies door, and asked her if she could allow the cat into her house and keep him there and phone me straight away, and I will collect him and bring him to my house and call you straight away.

RSPCA inspector just this min phoned me, they have the cat, they took him straight to vet, and vet was shocked, they done tests and he does not have any diseases, so they put him to sleep and took his eye out, and when he has recovered, they will take him to cross lane rspca.

He said if the woman had of being younger they would prosecute her but as she is 82 they will not.

Am just so glad the cat has been caught and treated, and in no more distress and pain.

Thank you goldmoon for actually caring enough to report this.

Great work guys, much repsect! did the vet have any idea what had happened to the poor bugga's eye? them pics were truly shocking and upsetting. Ive never seen anything like that before. Looks like it had had a stone thrown at it or some kind of abuse by our evil assd counterparts, but would love to be proved wrong. frown

I don't know what the vet who treated him said... I assumed he received an injury to his eye fighting, and then it's got infected.

A friend of mine took in a stray tom that wasn't neutered, and had him fixed. Some days later, his head and face swelled up. She went back to the vet who examined his head and found a small scab. It was a bite wound which turned out to have a piece of fang in it! omg It was from his last scrap! And the mouth being packed with bacteria, it had quickly become infected...

But he made a full recovery after removal of the tooth, a good flushing, and a course of antibiotics!

So yeah, cats can, and do, badly injure each other. Especially toms that aren't fixed. Look at this face... doesn't he just look like a big bruiser?!

So pleased he will recover. Our vets are wonderful people.
Doesn't the owner want him back? How long will the RSPCA keep him for if they can't find him a new home?
