OK I'll start by saying that I know I'm probably preaching to the converted, and that I realise that I know next to b*gger all about all things computer-related, but I have recently found out that it is possible to download stuff from YouTube using this add-on in Firefox: http://www.flashvideodownloader.org/But just in case there are souls out there (like me) who did not know about this I thought I would post the link. You can save stuff to watch later; OH and I save stuff to usb and then watch it through the xbox. Tess x.

This is the correct link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-video-downloader/Sorry the one in my first post went to the homepage, but was confusing as it didn't link directly to the, er, thing. Download Helper is also very good, it'll grab videos that other plugins won't touch.

Thanks all for the info. Perhaps someone here could help? I've been using various youtube download programs and plug-ins over the years. Most of them seem to work on most videos. But I can never get any of them to download this particular video:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgJ1U1umYZQIt's a 1986 episode of "Take the High Road". I'm not particularly interested in the episode itself, it's just that there are other similar videos on Youtube which also can't be downloaded and for some as yet unknown reason the above one is the only one of that type I can remember off the top of my head. So if anyone does successfully manage to download the above video (not the ad) with any util then please can you let us know which program it can be done with? I don't know why the various utilities have problems with that particular video, but none of the ones I've yet tried have successfully managed to do it. I either get some error message or nothing happens or the ad gets downloaded instead of the vid itself. Cheers and thanks in advance for any possible help!
