Because the Armed Forces is not for me, I chose a different career path. Plus I doubt I would be able to do what they do not got the physical or mental strength required

Nothing against them in the slightest.

They work no harder than the rest of us.

I just fail to see why they are heroes and we're not...

People have their own views on what makes someone a hero, so you may not see them as hero's but others do.

Maybe national service would make people appreciate what these men and women do for all of us, no matter what colour/religion/race we come from.

Work no harder than the rest of us, you must be joking I know that at times even nowadays with Air control help they can be stuck in the desert in heat of 50 for 20-30 hours at a time.

Failed at school, Prince Harry went, I know many privately educated people choose the military life, it's a calling and the only bad thing I can think of national service would be that they would have to spend more time putting themselves in danger to protect us who would be crapping ourselves and unable to continue.

Are you serious! Anyone with a job is contributing 20% or 40% if not more of their earnings to the entire country, that includes a fook load of lazy Grrrs.

What are we doing?

Carrying bone idle lazy bell ends is what we're doing!!

Whether we are killing innocent people whilst earning our money is irrelevant.

In war innocent people get killed its a fact of life, so stop using that to try make them look bad. Also you must be a "bone idle lazy bell end" to then as all you seem to do is be on here every day for majority of the day.

No I just engage brain before typing, my avatar is my appreciation for the wounded.

You seem really ill informed and base your view on nothing but basic dislike.

Sickening how someone can say "most soldiers are only soldiers because they failed at school." How far from the truth can that be. Soldiers are no doubt a mixture of males / females from different classes who have come out of school with a range of qualifications who actually want to do something with their life and for their country. Pretty sure most soldiers do not intend to kill innocent people. Again far fetched from the truth.

I think you need to put your play station controller down and start researching facts first. Pretty sure you were waiting for a friend to come and play against you online so thought you would cause a bit of commotion.

The majority of soldiers are heroes. That is also not to say that many nurses, doctors, teachers etc are not heroes in the eyes of many in this country.

You are unreal. They have joined the army in the full knowledge that they may be killed or disabled, they work a damn sight harder than us in a different way........ soldiers have fought in wars in the past which have given us the freedom we enjoy today...... you want to try it you fool you may come back a 'real man'....... that's if you don't come back in a coffin.......
