[Linked Image] These two men are wanted over a vicious robbery that left a man with a fractured eye socket in Birkenhead.

Police have released these CCTV stills after the attack on two men, aged 22 and 33, in a house on Lowood Road. The victims are believed to have met their attackers in the Charing Cross pub and then invited them home to carry on drinking.

Once inside, they were threatened with a knife, punched and kicked.

The 22-year-old had two mobile phones, his wallet, cash and bank cards stolen. The 33-year-old suffered a fractured cheek and eye socket in the attack, at around 2.30am on Saturday, June 29.

Detectives believe the attackers left the house with a woman who had not been in the pub. Det Sgt Mark Watson, from Birkenhead CID, said: “The men pictured were in the area at the time and we are keen to hear from anyone who knows them.”

Call Birkenhead CID on 0151 777 2265 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

-----------------

This is about an attack that happened to my boyfriend in my home and the article is ridiculously under exaggerated.
It doesn't mention anything about him spending 5 nights in hospital with a broken jaw that he had to have surgery on, or about the 17ish stitches he had in the back of his head from knife wounds.
It also doesn't mention that we had well over a grands worth of stuff stolen including and xbox, games, wii, SLR Camera, compact camera, External hard drive with about 10 years worth of sentimental photos and documents on, jewelry, make-up etc.
Apart from the hard drive all of that is just material stuff that can be replaced and obviously I'm just glad that my boyfriend, dog and our friend are all okay now.. It could of been a lot worse.

Sorry for my rant but I am so angry, with these blokes, the police and everyone.. my house was a crime scene for 4 days and I wasn't allowed home.

Please, please help me get the word out about these horrible people..
All I really know about them is that they're Irish, take steroids, their name's are Cody and Eddie (I think) and apparently live somewhere in the Oxton Road/Balls Road area with a girl.

If you hear, see or know anything, please tell me or police.
I need to get these people caught.

I'm so sorry to read about you and your boyfriend's frightening experience. frown

I agree, the whole incident and it's aftermath has been shockingly understated. And why, I don't know?

Why don't you contact local newspapers "The Wirral Globe" and "The Wallasey News", and tell them what you've told us? Maybe if potential witnesses knew the extent of the violence used and your boyfriend's terrible injuries, they'll be more inclined to report these monsters?

Pity we cant put a bounty on their heads. Doesnt seem to bother us as a nation killing the baddies along with the innocents in far off lands.
Seems to be enough evidence to target them---best leave it to police and the courts for them to get a smack on the wrists

It's because it can jeopardise any future prosecution proceedings.

I'm trying to do as much as I can because the impression we've got from the police is that they really don't give a cr*p, not keeping us informed at all.. because my fella was an idiot and invited these people for a drink the police have, in their own words, basically told us "We don't care.. It's your own fault, We're going to do what we absolutely have to and nothing more". It was only on friday, a full week later, that the police asked about his injuries and took a list of what was stolen (and that was only because we mentioned it).

Thanks Gold_Moon, I might contact the papers..

Although the stills are grainy, they are good enough for someone who knows them to tell. Lets hope they have enough respect for humans that they report them. Complete ....

But downplaying the seriousness of the attack, and the injuries caused, also effects the possibility of someone turning them in, and therefore, the likelihood of them being prosecuted at all!

After all, "threatened with a knife" is nowhere near as bad as being stabbed in the head with one, is it?! The way it's been reported just makes it sound like an alcohol fuelled scuffle! Disgraceful!

we know that but the police like to keep details out of public until a case has been dealt with.

Leann just make sure that the Wirral Globe print these pics in this Wednesdays edition, also tell them exactly what these brave little tramps done. Someone should anonymously turn them in with a bit of luck.
