Can anyone recommend anyone to do a brake servo replacement for a Peuegot 306? The Haynes manual states that its a dashboard out job, and I don't have a driveway or garage to undertake this job myself. Its also a pretty immaculate car so I don't want someone just ripping it out without taking any care.

That's assuming the servo has failed. Brake pedal is constantly hissing air unless you lightly press it. There's no vacuum assistance, pedal is constantly hard. Servo and brake system is completely fine at the engine side.

TIA.

Already tried them. His reply was "its not something we'd get involved in, you'd need to go to a peugeot specialist".

Rubbish.

If you can do the job yourself you're welcome to use my driveway.....its not massive but at least its not on the roadside. I'll park on the road for a couple of days...not a problem. Otherwise try Chris Gilley behind the casino /Himalaya car park on Oxton Road...

could be wrong, but i'm sure you can drop the column out of the way and get to the nuts without having to take the dash out??

If you take the four nuts out that hold the steering colum up and lower it you can then get to the servo bolts.

First of all try this:

It is the seal on the back of the Servo unit...
What you need to do is climb under the dash and pull back the carpet then behind the brake pedal is a pin that goes through the bulk head.
Pull back the waterproof rubber seal and you should see the back of the servo and a small red seal...
Now what you have to do is seat it back into its original position using a blunt tool, use the back of a pencil..
It happens after you brake hard then let off the pedal, the seal just pops out as it is only held in by the vacuum of the servo...
Don't worry too much about it, your brakes wont totally fail but you should really get it done!
If after you try this it still leaks then you need to replace the whole servo unit.

That's my thinking too. The Haynes manual is very vague because it has to cover three marks of the 306. I reckon if you took off the steering column plastics and removed the speedo instrumen cluster, you should be able to get access.

Thanks for all your input guys, really appreciated.
