This photo was took at the Kwik Save store on Poulton Road, Wallasey.

I understand that this building was an old Picture House but has anybody any idea what this 'cog'type thing is-sticking out of the wall? It's about 30 feet high- 'above the hole- in-the-wall' cash dispenser.

It must be an 'original feature'- but of what??

Nice garden in the gutter,

A guess, if its an old cinema, could it be something to do with a rotating sign or light or even a lighted rotating sign.

Just "happened" on this... (Scroll to bottom pic.)

http://www.teleramics.com/inuse/inuse2006.html

Shows same bracket in its more usual setting on a pole.

WHO in their right mind collects insulators and their brackets?? DON'T answer that Chriskay!!
Well spotted Rude!

And, Pinz, I just 'happened' to read through the whole site and there's mention of Wirral and Clatterbridge examples. Beware, those 'potty' collectors are getting closer!
