hi all, just thought you'd like to hear the news that at St. Catherine's Health Centre, despite there being barriers and coin boxes in the car park, it has been confirmed that there are NO plans to charge patients and visitors for parking at the site.

please relay to friends, family and colleagues.

thanks.

Thanks for that j demo, but the fact that there are coin boxes and barriers doesn't bode well for it remaining free in the future.

true, though i think there were plans but they got put on hold

the wording in the email bulleting we were sent round was:
Quote
"We would like to advise all users of St Catherine’s Health Centre that despite the installation of barriers on the approach to the patient car park there are no plans to charge patients for parking. Please communicate this information to all patients and clients attending site."

Sorry to Hijack but at Arrow Park;

I'm new to visiting up there and just wanted to warn members about a £10 charge for parking which could happen to anyone not in the know.

I parked in the car park around the back collecting a ticket as i entered the car park to lift the barrier. I was up there as a member of the family had been taken by ambulance so it was not in visiting times. But that would not have made any difference to the £10 charge at the pay point.

So i have my ticket and i have done my visiting and its close to midnight. Every one talking about the parking tickets and where to pay? (I did not realise at the time that the one around the back is free, unlike the one at the front which is £2.50 per visit). So I went to the ticket machine which should have said NO charge. But it showed up at £10 !! With this i asked a passing nurse who said they sometimes leave the barriers up at night. So that was what i was going to check out before i paid £10 for parking at the Hospital.

Good news was the barrier was up.
The next morning i parked in the £2.50 per visit car park which was at the front of the hospital and asked at the main reception what were the charges per car park.

£2.50 per visit at the front.
FREE - at the car park around the left side.

The Barrier does stay up all the time so you can just drive out at the car park around the back. So i was lucky but i did get me thinking how many others had fallen for this ticket scam as i would call it.

What didn't help either was the Tariff was on a sticky A4 paper which had been man handled to dead and un readable.

End of Rant and Paying at Arrow Park

arrowe park has always been a bit weird with the two car parks, one being free and one being pay-per-visit.

clatterbridge has the same problem, i believe one car park is free (can't say what one it is, i have just been told that one of them is free) while others aren't. (can't speak from recent experience however as i am able to use the staff car parks)

VCH in liscard does have barriers but has never charged and never will.

and st caths as i say we thought they were gonna charge, but not now.

Last time I used Arrowe Park hospital car park, the one to the left was free for the first either 2 or 3 hours, pay after that. There is a park and ride bus which links to Arrowe Park Hospital from Sainsbury's car park at Upton.Sometimes a better option.
Clatterbridge free car park is for patients /oncology dept. and it is mannned at all times.
All hospital car parks used to be free, which is not so long ago. Trouble now is, even if you're happy to pay, it's virtually impossible to find space at certain times of the day.
