Hi looking at buying a house which needs new kitchen average size about 10 units and a bathroom with bath toilet and sink. With also painting which we will hopefully do ourselves and carpets for 4 bedrooms. No idea how much this is gonna cost but on a budget of about 7,000 will this be enough do you think? Any help appreciated. Medium sized 3 bedroom semi detached house

You can do a kitchen and a bathroom for this, if you are replacing not re-arranging. budget £160 - £200 for carpets in each bedroom room. Buy good quality paints. Get bargains of the internet and you can save a packet.

I started renovating my house 2.5 years ago, I have spent 4 times this amount and I am about half way through!

Some good trades on here, who have helped with my house.

Good luck

K

i am currently renewing my kitchen at the moment and have done everything, drywalled walls then tiles, new floor down plus tiles, all units new from wickes plus new appliances, sinks taps etc basically everything and so far i am at around £3200. have not got around to fitting yet but should not have to spend much more now.

Try wallsandfloors.co.uk for tiles - about a quarter the price of homebase!
