Do you have an idea of the problem ie is it orthopaedic, neurological etc. A consultant at Spire murrayfield would be able to see you and advise next step for you, he would write to your GP and advise if referral needed and if you don't have healthcare cover to go through nhs. Hope this helps and you get sorted.

This is a private gp's in Liverpool but I think Spire Wirral also have a private GP.
You do not need to go through your own gp or need any referral but you will have to pay for any prescriptions privately
Have you considered changing your gp.

Depending on your ailment call Murryfield I Have done it twice, I made an appointment to see consultant which from memory cost £110 on both occasions, I ended up being treated without further cost at Arrowe Park in both cases I was tagged on to the end of the consultants private list for small operations.Good luck.

My friend had a terrible time with his GP. He asked neighbours advice and moved to another GP practise and has come on leaps and bounds with medication better suited to his conditions, referral to consultants when needed, encouragement and a confidence that he is being looked after. If you decide not to go privately, the answer might be a change of doctor. I do hope all goes well for you.

Thanks everyone. I just feel like im going round in circles with my gps. I get b12 needles every 3 month. Im on stomach sickness and headache tablets each day. I've been told my b12 levels keep rapidly declining even tho i have the injections. My iron has been very high for month now andagain i didn't know this until now and my folate levels are low. I did get referred at one point to which he then retired and never told me xx the last doc i seen told me all of the above and said yes there's definitely something wrong but had to consult with the senior docs and they said more tests are needed. I've been doing these same tests for years now and there is nevean explanation. I know Alot of my symptoms are the b12 ie pins and needles in hands and feet. Dizzy. Tired all the time etc etc etc . I believe its all connected phonoh and to top it off i contract every bug that is going around. Sorry for the rant haha. I've asked my docs for my full medical records and a part of me doesn't want to change docs as they have been my family's gps for over 30 year but something ne

Please be careful before you go private as it is clear you will need more blood tests and I assume other tests you may find the costs run out of control.
It is difficult to make decision to change gp's but once you have changed you will be so relieved.
As an alternative go back to the practice and insist on a referral to Royal Liverpool Hospital. They will resist but it is your right and life.
When you are unwell you start loosing your confidence but stand up to them after all without patients were would they be.

I agree with Rossie. This type of investigation is going to require lots of blood tests being performed. Going through the private route for this, it's going to prove costly. I've recently been to Nuffied in Chester, the consultation cost £160. I was lucky that I had access to my scan from my GP, to which I showed the Consultant at Nuffield. I'd been fobbed off by my GP for 6 years, I was diagnosed straight away by the Consultant.

I'd ask your GP to refer you to The Royal or The Countess of Chester Hospital.
Don't be fobbed off any longer, it's your body and something isn't right, they have a duty of care towards you and by the sounds of it, they aren't adhering to this.

Good luck.

I wonder if you are being pushy enough with your present GP , or if you are feeling too run down and unwell to actually keep tabs on where you are up to ,so to speak. If you dont go privately , and yes, it sounds like all the tests could prove very expensive, why not start a detailed blog for each day, and keep not only a record of how you feel, but of every appointment with your GP,names and dates of any specialists appointments along with names, what every nurse, Dr, or specialist has said, what pills/injections youve had that day , when youre given a new prescription, when he sends you for a blood test, diarize when he says results for anything should be back and follow everything up like a terrier with a rat. Ive had to do that for a relative Im caring for , and believe me, being able to look back and have precise dates to hand of when this that or the other thing was said or given, has been invaluable . It gives you power and confidence to insist on the next step. Good luck.
