Does anybody know if the Government Green Scheme, whereby you can have a new boiler installed and pay for it on your electricity bill, is still running. If so does anybody have contact numbers please?

Failing that can anyone recommend a reliable central heating engineer? It's a Worcester 24i Junior.

It may not be of any use but I heard an advert on the radio a couple of weeks ago where a company was doing an offer for a new boiler with 3 years warranty (parts and labour included) and the customer pays £99 a month. Can't for the life of me remember the name of the company but that may be a way to look into.

My company is a green deal supplier if you want me to get someone to contact you direct leave me a pm with your name and phone number, the green deal is a new scheme so a number of company's are still applying for the kite mark needed to participate in the green deal scheme, the scheme will be around for years.

Doesn't the green deal end up ripping you off? And tying you in to practically a contract that the energy companies can end up charging what they want?

How can it rip you off? its designed to bring down your energy usage, then any savings that are then made on your energy bill will then help to pay for any work undertaken.

So it ends up costing exactly the same and you don't see the need its whils being tied into energy companies who offer the green deal. However as they have a captor market what's to say that in 2 years they won't up the prices for all those on the green deal? Just because those people are tied into the green deal? Or is there something that says the prices for green deal customers are capped?

Sadly this cynical point of view will turn out to be absolutely right.The big companies that are involved in this "green deal" are not in it for saving the world or for consumers. They are in there for bigger and bigger profits.The figures they quote are there to confuse and blind ordinary people to the true facts.As always if it sounds too good to be true then it almost certainly is.
